IT'S SHOWTIME...
Probably the most anticipated events at Copper Studios every year are our productions. Students and parents alike enjoy an evening of talent and festivities when attending a Copper Studios production and students get the opportunity to perform at various venues at theatres across the Midlands.
We have three types of productions at Copper Studios, the first being our annual Summer Showcase. All students attending Copper take part in this show and it’s the perfect opportunity for them to show friends and family what they’ve learned through the year. We’re excited by a great theme and usually choose a theme that’s topical or relevant to that year, students from all classes perform a variety of different pieces in the show which later become a fabulous memory they can look back on in years to come. Our professional photographers and videographers capture these precious moments for parents to cherish and keep and our social media is flooded with amazing memories from the productions of years gone by. As well as this we also offer a stripped-back Musicals Concert which all our Musical Theatre groups take part in, which features a pianist, beautiful harmonies and an array of musical numbers.
The third type of production at Copper Studios is our yearly Elite musical, wherein members of our Elite audition-only class dazzle audiences with their full-scale musicals. The talent and ambition shown on stage in our musicals are second to none and are a real treat for the whole family to enjoy. We encourage our younger Copper students who may aspire to be a part of Elite one day to come along and enjoy the show with their families and friends. To see more about our Elite productions you can visit the ‘ELITE’ page above.

He is secretly in love with his colleague, Audrey and names the plant Audrey Two in her honour.

DISCO - 2022
This years summer showcase was long-awaited. This was the first show back in a theatre for many students after three years. What better way than celebrating the timeless tunes of DISCO! With songs such as Stayin Alive, Turn the beat around, Relight my fire, Car Wash and Boogie Wonderland .
Students looked fantastic in flared trousers and bright glittery colours to accompany the stunning staging at Squire performing arts centre.

RENT - 2022
The execution, commitment and passion from every single soul on this stage is unreal… you wouldn’t believe these are 14-16 year old teens!
We have had the most OUTSTANDING compliments on the production, professionalism and talent from this show and we truly don’t know how we are going to top this- but we will, somehow.
Thank you to all 16 cast members for listening, learning and opening their hearts to!
This rock opera highlights a year in the life of a group of bohemians struggling in modern day New York. We see the dreams, losses and love stories weave through the musical's narration with audience members witnessing a raw and emotional story under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
CATS - 2021
What a journey we had with Cats, we had only a couple of rehearsals at our studio until we got thrown unexpectedly onto Zoom for almost a year and a half. Students took up Ballet to be able to execute the choreography for the show and ultimately what a show it was! Our students accelerated themselves into new heights and their integrity and perseverance with going through such a difficult time is something we will remember forever. The costumes, set and makeup were an exciting new challenge for all and students grew and improved immensely throughout the duration of this production

CopperFEST - 2021
Copperfest was our first show to be performed through the Covid-19 pandemic and was certainly a memorable one. After a cancelled show the year previous, a cancelled theatre only months before we enjoyed an outdoor festival style show at Sherwood Glade. Performers dazzled their friends and family with an eclectic mix of routines and styles from the Broadway musical Come From Away to a show written by our Stage Academy students over zoom, we couldn’t have been more proud of the show they managed to produce. The July thunderstorm did not break our spirits and our class of 2021 performed a matinee and an evening show to two sold out audiences.

13 the Musical - 2019
13 the Musical was our first full scale musical with our Elite team and it was an exciting new time at Copper Studios. The show was just perfect for the cast with the 13 members almost all aged 13 and the upbeat theatre/pop show was a thrilling challenge for all. It was the unveiling of our new Elite, the Jason Robert Brown classic couldn’t have been more of the perfect mix between challenging and exciting. We saw some new performers shine in lead roles and had a strong ensemble who performed beautifully each night. This is certainly a show we will remember forever.
The Magic of Motown - 2019
The Magic of Motown was our first show combining our Musical Theatre classes with our regular weekly dance, singing and acting. As you can guess by the title the entire show was Motown and we enjoyed performing to hits from the Jackson 5, Mary Wells and so many more. Students also enjoyed the introduction to Motown music and many of them are still fans to this day.
West End to Broadway - 2018
West End to Broadway was Musical EVERYTHING! Our Musical Theatre groups performed a stand out show to an eclectic mix of classic MT, new broadway shows and current West End favourites. Their mix of singing, acting and dance made this triple threat show a fan favourite with our audiences.

I Wanna Rock - 2017
I wanna rock was a new musical written by directors Harry and Megan Hindley, “we wrote the script to fit around our chosen rock songs and created a brand new story to suit the ages of our young performers”. The show was a huge success and the students loved to be involved with the creation of the show. The rock theme was so perfect at the time for our young, energetic performers and it stays a firm Copper favourite all these years on.
Around the World - 2018
Around the world was a special little show for our, at the time, new classes at Copper. We debuted our weekly dance, singing and acting groups with a show inspired by music and culture from around the world. We often look back on this show and admire the creativity and confidence shown by the students who performed and are so proud of what they achieved.

A Night at the Movies - 2016
A night at the movies was our very first show at Copper Studios, we based each piece on a classic movie/movie soundtrack and had everything from jaws to footloose. We were a huge mix of nervous and excited to put on our first proper production with the students and learnt so much from that first experience. Perhaps one day we should revisit a night at the movies all these years on and see how far we’ve come from that first tiny show with about 30 students!
